Our work

Current work
As the name suggests, Jelly Sports occupies the wobbly and exciting – yet largely unexplored – space between play and sport. This two year project will transform the space on people’s doorsteps, on their streets or estates, into hyper-local opportunities to have fun and get active for the whole family.

Current work
London Play’s Play Street Showcase events bring to life the potential for traffic-dominated streets to become playful, interactive community spaces. Available for commission at very reasonable rates.

ABOUT US

Current work
London Play is working with residents in the borough of Tower Hamlets to occupy and animate spaces on housing estates by supporting regular sessions for children and adults to come together to have fun, play or just chat!

ABOUT US

Past work
New playgrounds being built in The Regents and Greenwich Parks created an opportunity for encouraging communities living nearby to make greater use of their local green spaces; whose reputation as destination parks can make them feel exclusive.

ABOUT US

Current work
This two year project sees London Play working alongside local play campaigners, supporting them to successfully challenge threats to local play spaces or services; and influence decisions relating to play.

Current work
Would you like your street to come alive with play? The good news is that in many parts of London, starting a play street is fairly easy.

Past work
Summer 2021: During 19 pop-up events staged in central London, hundreds of children, some of whom had never before even held a screwdriver, turned piles of wood and wheels into exquisitely engineered and lavishly decorated go karts.

Past work
2020: Our Emergency Play Parcels included a unique deck of 52 playing cards produced by the team at London Play, each describing a game or activity to be played at home or even over the phone with relatives or friends. Nature
2011-13: We put in gnarly logs, a dragon here and there, climbable trees, boulders and other natural play features to tempt children and families into the natural environment and (re)discover the joy of being outdoors.

Nature
2011-2013: In Deptford, children were begging their parents to go to school – on a Saturday! But who could blame them, when the school in question was abandoned and featured a hidden, wild nature garden?

Adventure play
OK, so WE KNOW that adventure playgrounds are worth their weight in gold. Our Play Works project (2015-20) supported play workers to make sure they had the evidence to convince potential funders of the same.

ABOUT US

Past work
2016: Time in the playground is as important as time in the classroom. Kids who are given the chance to run, jump and play freely during the school day concentrate better and achieve more.

Past work
2014: Play Streets Past and Present got modern youngsters looking at the strips of concrete and tarmac outside their homes with new eyes.
