PROJECT: Play in the Park II
PARTNER: The Royal Parks
DATES: Two years: September 2024-August 2026
This London Marathon Trust funded partnership builds on a successful first phase project, aimed at inspiring and supporting communities living around three iconic London parks to use and enjoy them more through nature-inspired play. This time London Play is leading on outreach and events in and around Greenwich and The Regents’ Parks and supporting activities in Kensington Gardens.
London Play is working with older people from the Third Age Project and families at the Regents Park Timebank exploring The Regents’ Park and the surrounding estate through play and memories of it.
Free nature-inspired play events are open to all during the school holidays. Dates for 2026 events can be found on The Royal Parks website here and below:

- Wednesday 08 April, Greenwich Park (Emergence)

Nature
New playgrounds being built in The Regents and Greenwich Parks created an opportunity for encouraging communities living nearby to make greater use of their local green spaces; whose reputation as destination parks can make them feel exclusive.
Play news
Two of London's best-loved and well known destination playgrounds will be reopening in 2026 following expansive refurbishments.
